Variables is a choreography for an idividual listener conceived for a former refectory in the monastry of Gravenhorst.
The sound of the nearby highway is turned into impulses of varying lenght, speed, volume. They bring the outer environment towards the inside but also expose the acoustic properties of the space itself. Assignements guide a single listener for a given time and and initiate a reflection on how interiority or exteriority can be created, perceived and transformed.
